Principals at Halo Bioventures co-founded Lung Therapeutics as a startup out of the University of Texas Health Northeast. While the institution was located in Tyler TX, the company was founded in Austin TX.

We struck a license with the institution, and raised $500,000 for the startup. We launched a search for a CEO, and hired an experienced leader to serve in this role. Our team served on the board during its startup phase and initial funding.

To date the company has raised over $40 million in capital from grants, angels and venture capital funds. Their lead compound LTI-001 passed Phase 1 safety trials and is now in Phase 2 efficacy. The company was named by JP Morgan as one of the hottest biotech's of 2016.
